Teacher of Criminology

Job Description

Zest Education are seeking a dedicated Teacher of Criminology to join a secondary school in the Castle Bromwich area. The successful candidate will have experience teaching the KS5 curriculum and a strong understanding of criminology concepts and theories. This is a full-time role due to commence in November 2024, and is expected to run for the rest of the academic year. Teachers with a background in Sociology will also be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

– Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons in criminology for KS5 students
– Assess student progress and provide feedback to support their learning and development
– Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
– Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience for students
– Participate in school events and extracurricular activities as required

Qualifications:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
– Experience teaching criminology at KS5 level
– Strong knowledge of criminology concepts and theories
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their full potential

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
