Teacher of DT

Job Description

Are you a DT looking for a better work life balance? We have the tole for you! A high performing secondary school in the Walsall area are looking to recruit an outstanding DT teacher from January 2025 for at least 1 full term.

The school is centrally located to the town centre so is easily accessible by public and private transport, onsite parking is also offered for those that may need it. This school was rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted on their latest inspection and are continually raising the standards of the school, academically and innovatively. The school promotes inclusivity and equality for all, staff, and students, as well as ensuring the environment is happy and safe to promote excellent learning.

Ideally the candidate needs to have experience up to KS5, across a range of DT disciplinaries with excellent classroom and behaviour management.

The successful applicant will have:

  1. A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  2. A strong passion for the subject of Design & Technology and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 (Resistant Material knowledge would be an advantage)
  3. A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  4. The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  5. Strong classroom and behaviour management.
