Job Description

Zest Education are currently seeking a part-time (0.8) English teacher to join a secondary school in the Solihull area. This position includes planning and marking, as well as delivering engaging lessons to secondary school students. The school are ideally looking for the role to run Monday to Thursday, but this can be negotiated if necessary. The role is due to start as soon as possible and is expected to last until the end of the academic year.

Responsibilities:

– Develop and deliver high-quality English lessons to secondary school students.
– Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and participation.
– Evaluate and assess student progress through assignments and tests.
– Provide constructive feedback to students to enhance their learning and development.
– Attend staff meetings and professional development activities as required.

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in the subject of English.
– Experience teaching English at secondary level.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
– Effective planning, organisation, and time management skills.
– Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the school and students.
– A commitment to professional growth and development.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
