Zest Education has the privilege of working closely with a secondary school in the Burton on Trent area who are looking to recruit an English teacher in a full time position to start February 2024.

The school are a local secondary who cater to a wide range of students, modern facilities and an investment into resources makes he school an excellent institution for education and learning. A supportive SLT also encourages staff to take on any extra training they feel they may need or want. Development is one part of the ethos of the school and it applies to both students and teachers. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves to achieve their targets and surpass expectations set for them.

Ideally the chosen candidate will have experience at teaching the English curriculum up to KS5 and have excellent classroom and behaviour management, this is a full time role so planning and marking will be required.

The ideal applicant should have the following:
  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  • An enthusiasm for English as a subject and a strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 not required but would be advantageous).
  • The desire to be involved with the wider English teaching department.
  • The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking is only applicable for short- or long-term placements).
  • The ability to manage behaviour and the general classroom.
