Teacher of English – Aston

Job Description

Zest Education are currently looking for a Teacher of English, to teach across KS3 – KS4, in a large secondary school, in Aston. The role will start in February 2025, this be full time and will be a maternity cover position (this will be for a minimum of one term, with the high potential to be extended).  The school offer safe on-site parking and continual professional development opportunities.

The school is situated in a popular area, so the ideal candidate will be hard working and thrive in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic, confident and be able to recognise and engage with different learning needs.

Successful candidates will have:

  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  • A strong passion for the subject of English and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
  • A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  • The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management

Both newly qualified teachers (NQT) / Early careers teachers (ECT) and experienced teachers will be equally considered for this role.

Rates of pay will vary dependant on experience.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
