Teacher of English

Job Description

Zest Education are seeking a dedicated Teacher of English to join a secondary school in the Moseley area. This full-time role will involve planning and marking for students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The school prides itself on its high standards, and are looking for an individual who can contribute to maintaining and enhancing them. The role is due to commence in September 2024 and will run for a minimum of one term.

Responsibilities:

– Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons to students across KS3 and KS4
– Create engaging and stimulating learning resources
– Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback through effective marking and feedback
– Support and guide students in their academic and personal development
– Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive curriculum delivery
– Maintain accurate records of student achievement and attendance
– Attend meetings and training sessions as required

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant degree or equivalent qualifications in English
– Proven experience teaching English at a secondary level
– Excellent knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 English curriculum
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best
– Organisational and time-management skills to effectively plan and deliver lessons
– High standards and a commitment to continuous professional development
