Job Description

Zest Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Geography to join a secondary school in the Water Orton area. The successful candidate will join a fantastic school that prides itself on high standards and a supportive learning environment. This is a full-time role where planning and marking is required. The role is due to commence in September 2024 and will run for a minimum of one term.

Responsibilities:

– Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, following the national curriculum guidelines for Geography
– Create lesson plans and resources that cater to a range of learning abilities and styles
– Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support
– Set and mark homework and assignments
– Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance
– Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum strategies and improvements
– Attend departmental and staff meetings as required
– Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
– Experience teaching Geography at a secondary level
– Excellent subject knowledge and understanding of the national curriculum
– Strong classroom management skills
– Ability to engage and motivate students of different abilities and backgrounds
– Effective communication and interpersonal skills
– Commitment to continuous professional development
