Zest Education are seeking an experienced Teacher of Resistant Materials to join a secondary school in the Dudley area. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons and promoting students’ creativity and practical skills. This is a full-time role where planning and marking is required. The role is due to commence in September 2024 and will run for a minimum of one term.

Responsibilities:

– Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Resistant Materials to secondary school students.
– Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes students’ creativity, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking abilities.
– Set and assess students’ work, providing constructive feedback to support their progress.
– Monitor and track students’ progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate interventions if necessary.
– Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share teaching resources, ensuring consistency across the department.
– Engage students in practical projects and guide them in using various tools and equipment safely.
– Stay up to date with developments in Resistant Materials education and incorporate them into your teaching practice.

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
– Experience teaching Resistant Materials at secondary level.
– Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the UK curriculum.
– Ability to motivate and inspire students, fostering a love for the subject.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
– Commitment to continuous professional development and keeping up to date with best practices in teaching and learning.
