High‑Needs SEN Teaching Assistant – Resource Base

NVQ Level 3 Required | Infant School | Mornings Only | Rednal

Zest Education is recruiting a Level 3 qualified SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child with high and complex needs within a specialist SEN resource base at a nurturing Infant School in Rednal.

This is a part‑time, mornings‑only role, ideal for an experienced Teaching Assistant with a strong background in high‑needs SEN support, early years inclusion, and specialist provision.

Role Overview

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:20am – 12:45pm
  • Location: Rednal
  • Setting: Infant School – Specialist SEN Resource Base
  • Support Type: 1:1 high‑needs SEN support

Key Responsibilities

As a High‑Needs SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with complex additional needs
  • Support learning, communication, sensory regulation, and emotional wellbeing
  • Work within a structured SEN resource base environment
  • Implement individual support plans, behaviour strategies, and SEN interventions
  • Support transitions, routines, and engagement with learning activities
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider inclusion team

Essential Requirements

To be considered, applicants must have:

  • NVQ Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) – essential
  • Proven experience supporting children with high‑needs SEN
  • Experience working in a resource base, SEN unit, or specialist provision (desirable)
  • Knowledge of complex needs, ASD, SEMH, or sensory needs
  • A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
