Teaching Assistant

After Easter start | 1:1 & small‑group SEND support | PFA‑trained applicants desirable

Zest Education is delighted to be recruiting a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and nurturing resource base provision within a well‑regarded infant school in the Hall Green area. This full‑time role begins after the Easter break and offers a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional and complex needs.

This position is ideal for an experienced TA who is calm, patient and passionate about helping children thrive. PFA (Paediatric First Aid) training is highly desirable, though not essential.

The resource base is a specialised provision that supports pupils with a variety of needs, including communication, developmental and behavioural challenges. Staff pride themselves on offering personalised learning, positive relationships and a welcoming atmosphere for every family.

The Role

Working within the resource base, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1‑1 support for pupils with identified SEND needs
• Supporting small‑group sessions tailored to individual learning plans
• Assisting pupils with emotional regulation, routines and personalised strategies
• Working closely with teachers and SEN staff to deliver consistent, high‑quality support
• Adapting activities to meet diverse learning needs
• Contributing to a positive, safe and structured environment
• Completing general TA duties when required

Flexibility is essential, as you may be asked to support different pupils across the infant age range.

What We’re Looking For

To be considered, you must have:

• A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Previous experience supporting children 1‑1, ideally with SEND
• A calm, nurturing and resilient approach
• The ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team
• Strong communication and behaviour‑support skills
• Reliability, consistency and a genuine passion for inclusive education
• PFA training (highly advantageous but not essential)
