Zest Education is working in close partnership with a special educational needs school located in Cannock, who are looking to appoint a part-time Teaching Assistant to start ASAP 4 days per week. This position will continue a long-term basis into the new academic year. The successful Teaching Assistant will be required to work the hours 8:30 to 15:30.

The school itself caters for students from the age ten to nineteen with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The ideal candidate must have experience supporting individuals with special educational needs or SEMH and must be confident with managing challenging behaviours.

You will be working with students on a one-to-one basis as well as working with small groups. The school ensures that each class does not exceed nine students and maintains a high level of staff. It is important to this school that every student always has outstanding support and receives a personalised learning experience.

The role:

  • You will need to be adaptable and have a good understanding of social, emotional and mental health difficulties
  • You will ideally have professional or personal experience of working with special educational needs
  • You will be joining a large staff team that provide a personalised learning experience for all students within the school
