Zest Education are urgently looking for a teaching assistant to fill an ongoing role at a special educational needs school in Stoke-on-Trent. This role is to start ASAP full time and ongoing for the rest of the academic year.
This school caters for children from the age of 5-13 with complex social communication disorders and/or a diagnosis of ASD. Due to the needs of the learners, the ideal candidate must have experience supporting individuals with SEND or experience within a care setting.
This school incorporate a wide range of subjects, providing appropriate challenge to encourage students to learn more and remember more. Their curriculum reflects the needs of the students and prepares them for the next steps in their educational journey.
The role involves working closely with the class teacher and therapists to provide individualised support for a specific student, targeting individualised learning approaches, emotional regulation, and communication.
The role:
- Must have experience supporting children or adults with SEND
- Have confidence, enthusiasm and a passion for learning
- Must be able to contribute to the management of pupil behaviour by helping the class teacher to implement different behaviour strategies
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment
