Job Description

Are you an experienced teaching assistant looking for a full-time position in a fantastic school environment? Look no further than Zest Education!

Zest Education is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate teaching assistant to join our team at a specialist day school in Hinkley. This school caters to pupils aged 8-14 years with autism and provides a safe and specially adapted environment where students can thrive.

As a teaching assistant at the school, you will play a vital role in supporting our pupils in their learning and growth journey. You will work closely with the teaching staff to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

– Assisting with classroom activities and creating engaging learning materials.
– Supporting individual students with their academic and social development.
– Encouraging and promoting positive behavior and emotional well-being.

To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience working with children or young people with autism. A patient and understanding nature, along with excellent communication skills, are essential.

Requirements:
– Experience working with adults or young people with autism.
– Strong ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
– Understanding of autism and the ability to implement effective strategies.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
