Zest Education is proud to be working with a ‘Good’ Ofsted rated special educational needs school in Stoke-on-Trent who are seeking a committed Teaching Assistant. There are both full and part time positions available but you must be able to work the hours 8:30 to 15:30. This position due to start ASAP and will continue on a long-term basis into the new academic year.
This school provides education for students from the age of 5-18 with moderate learning difficulties, however majority of the students have additional needs, including autism, speech, language and communication difficulties and some behavioural issues.
To be considered for this role you must have knowledge or experience working with special educational needs. We are open to receiving applications from TA’s, support workers and individuals that have worked with adults with special educational needs.
This school seeks to provide the students with a combination of class based learning and real-life experiences and skills that will help them to prepare for the demands of future employment, supported or independent. You will be supporting the students individually and in small groups, supporting with all areas of the curriculum and promoting independence where possible.
The Role:
- Must be creative in the classroom and be able to offer engaging support to the class teacher and students.
- You will be offered a great support network within school and any in-house training will be included.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with both staff and students.
- You will be confident, enthusiastic and be able to identify and engage with different learning needs.
- You will be equipped with the skills to de-escalate any challenges you may face, approaching them with a calm and composed demeanour.
