Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Are you passionate about education and making a positive impact on young minds? We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated teaching assistant to join our team at a school in Lichfield. This is a part-time position, working two days per week, specifically on Mondays and Wednesdays.

As a teaching assistant, you will be working across Key Stage 2 (KS2), providing support and assistance to students in various subjects. Previous experience working with Year 6 students is desirable, as you may be assigned to work closely with them.

One of the important aspects of this role is providing one-on-one support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will be responsible for assisting these students both inside and outside the classroom, ensuring they have equal access to education and are given the necessary support to thrive academically and emotionally. In addition to providing academic support, you will also assist the class teacher in managing the classroom, preparing resources, and maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment. Excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to build rapport with both students and staff are essential for this role.

To be considered for this position, you should have relevant experience working in an educational setting, preferably as a teaching assistant. A level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.

The school is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of all students. Therefore, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a thorough background check and provide references.

If you are enthusiastic about supporting students’ learning journey, have a flexible approach, and want to make a difference in young lives, then we would love to hear from you.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school community and contribute to the development and growth of young learners. Apply now and embark on a rewarding career as a teaching assistant in Lichfield.

If you are interested in this position or want to find out more, email Megan Jones at megan@zesteducation.co.uk or ‘apply for job’ at the top of the page to submit your details.

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.

The role advertised is for temporary supply work.
