Zest Education are looking for a teaching assistant to work in a mainstream secondary school, based in South Birmingham, Small Heath. This position will be based in the schools SEND department. The opportunities available are for immediate starts. They will be on a long-term supply. Which will continue until the end of the academic year.
The SEND unit within the school, supports those students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Heath (SEMH) needs. For this specific nature of work, candidates with past teaching assistant experience, within a SEND environment would be ideal, however not essential.
The school is a busy secondary which caters for a broad range of pupils, including a high number of EAL students, and has a supportive and inclusive ethos across all year groups, it also provides in house training and an excellent support network.
The ideal candidate will need to be creative within the classroom as well as supportive to aid the class teacher and students. They will need to be able to communicate effectively and clearly to students and staff.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
