Teaching Assistant

Zest Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a special educational needs school in Shifnal starting in September 2024 on a long-term basis.

The school focuses on providing a nurturing environment for students aged 5-19 with social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as other learning requirements. We welcome applications from Teaching Assistants, support workers, and individuals experienced in working with adults with special educational needs.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. The emphasis is on fostering independence and life skills to prepare our students for a successful transition into adult life. Creativity is key in the classroom to ensure engaging support for both the class teacher and students.

Effective communication is essential, as you will collaborate closely with staff and students to create a positive learning environment. Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
