We are currently looking for a teaching assistant for a special educational needs school located in Walsall.

Position Details:

  • Part-time position: 3 days a week (Monday to Wednesday)
  • Working hours: 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Start date: Immediate start
  • Long-term basis commitment

 

About the School:

The school caters to students aged 7-18 with Autism and a range of complex educational needs. The school aim to provide a supportive and inclusive environment where these students can thrive. The curriculum is tailored to meet their unique requirements, ensuring they receive the necessary challenges to further their learning and prepare them for their educational journey ahead.

 

 Role and Responsibilities:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping our students overcome barriers to learning and achieve success. Working both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, you will provide support across all areas of the curriculum. Your ability to quickly build engaging relationships with students is essential, as is your dedication to working closely with the class teacher and other teaching assistants to create a collaborative learning environment.

 

 Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with students with special educational needs is essential.
  • A deep understanding of Autism and strategies to support children with communication difficulties and challenging behaviour.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish strong relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of students.
