Teaching Assistant

A popular special educational needs school in Walsall is recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis starting September 2024. The successful candidate must be able to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 15:30.

This school provides education for children and young people from the age of 5-19 who have complex needs, emotional and behavioural difficulties or who display challenging behaviour.

You’ll be there to help them learn, develop their abilities and raise their self-esteem. You will need to be resilient and dedicated. Although this position is to work in a school environment, we are open to receiving applications from TA’s, support workers and individuals that have worked with adults with special educational needs.

The role:

• Must have experience supporting individual with SEND or mental health difficulties
• You must also have excellent communication skills as will be required to work closely with the class teacher and other teaching assistants
• You will be required to work across different rooms and age groups, showing initiative and able to work in a fast-paced environment

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
