Teaching Assistant

Zest Education is working in close partnership with a special educational needs school located in Cannock, who are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to start October 2024. This position will continue a long-term basis for the full academic year.

You must be able to work 8:30 – 15:30, 4 days a week (which can be discussed at interview).

The team here work hard to maintain a supportive and inclusive ethos across all areas of the school and put the children at the heart of what they do.

This school caters for students from the age of 5-18 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Due to the needs of the learners here, the successful candidate must have experience supporting individuals with special educational needs (SEND) or have experience within a similar setting such as a care/support work setting.

You must be organised and versatile to engage with different learning needs. As well as being a proactive and engaging individual who has proven experience of having strong behaviour management.

The role:

• You will be working with the children 1:1 and in small groups, so it is important that you have a flexible approach
• Passionate to build trusting relationships with the children to help them manage the learning challenges they may face
• To promote and encourage independence and personal development in pupils and maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times
