Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Are you a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant seeking a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact at a special educational needs school in Lichfield? This full-time position, scheduled to start in January 2025, promises a fulfilling long-term career path for the right candidate.

In this role, you will be responsible for building a strong rapport with the student based on their Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP). Effective communication and creating a safe and nurturing learning environment are key aspects of your responsibilities. Your ability to manage and address any challenging behaviours with patience and understanding is essential in fostering a positive learning experience for the student.

Having previous experience supporting individuals with ASD is advantageous, but your willingness to learn and adapt to the student’s unique needs is equally important. Your role as a Teaching Assistant involves working closely with the class teacher and other support staff to ensure a collaborative approach to the student’s education. By keeping detailed records of the student’s progress and communicating effectively with the teaching team, you play a vital role in supporting the student’s academic and social success.

As a dedicated and self-motivated individual, your role as a SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant is not just about assisting in the classroom but about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs. Your patience, empathy, and collaborative spirit will contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to excel.
