Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Are you passionate about supporting children’s learning and development? Do you enjoy working with students of all ages in a vibrant primary school setting? Zest Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the team on a part-time basis, working 3-4 days a week starting immediately, at a primary school in Swadlincote.

As a TA, you will have the opportunity to work across all age groups, gaining valuable experience in the wider curriculum. This role is ideal for individuals who are looking to make a positive impact on students’ educational journey and develop their own skills in a supportive environment. The schools welcoming and inclusive community supports staff and has a  leadership team dedicated to your professional growth. The schools engaging and diverse curriculum encourages creativity and exploration, supported by a collaborative and team-oriented work environment.

Responsibilities:
– Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and interactive lessons
– Assist students with their learning and development
– Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
– Provide one-on-one support to students who may need extra help
– Assist with classroom management and organization

Requirements:
– Previous experience working with primary aged children
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
– Enthusiasm for supporting children’s learning and development
– Relevant qualifications in education or child care is desirable

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
