Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs?
Zest Education is currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a special educational needs (SEND) school in Walsall on a full-time basis, with an immediate start available.
Located in a convenient area easily accessible by both car and public transport, this school specializes in catering to students from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4 who have social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting a student in Key Stage 2 with SEND, providing them with the necessary assistance to navigate their day-to-day tasks both in and out of the classroom.
The ideal candidate for this position will have prior experience working in a special needs environment and be equipped with excellent communication skills. Knowledge of Makaton or PECS would be beneficial, as you will be working closely with students who require individualised support to thrive academically and emotionally. The successful candidate will demonstrate ambition and commitment to delivering high-quality education to students, helping them build self-esteem and develop essential social skills.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in small class sizes, ensuring a maximum of nine students in each class. Alongside providing 1:1 support to the student with SEND, you may also be required to collaborate with small groups, tailoring your approach to meet the diverse needs of each student.
