Teaching Assistant, Erdington.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Teaching Assistant to work in a special educational needs school located in Erdington. This role is to start in ASAP and will continue on a long term basis into the new academic year. You will be required to work 8:30am to 15:30pm, Monday to Friday.

This school caters for children from the age of eleven to nineteen with Autism (ASC). Due to the needs of the learners, the ideal candidate will have previous experience of supporting individuals with special educational needs or in a similar environment.

The school is a large secondary which caters for a broad range of pupils and has a growing reputation within the surrounding areas. You will be required to work alongside the teacher supporting the teaching and learning in a class of up to 9 students. You will be working with the children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, so it is important that you have a flexible approach,

The role:

  • You have previous experience of supporting individuals with special educational needs or in a similar setting
  • You will need to be adaptable to work and support children of a variety of ages and learning difficulties
  • You are a patient individual and have a positive attitude towards the educational development of the students
