Zest Education is currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a warm and welcoming primary school in Swadlincote. This full-time role is to begin in January 2026 and will continue until the end of the term, with the possibility of extension and further opportunities in the local area.
This friendly and inclusive Swadlincote primary school has a strong reputation for supporting children both academically and emotionally. The school promotes a nurturing, child-centred approach where pupils feel safe, valued, and encouraged to achieve their best. Staff work collaboratively to create a positive and engaging learning environment, making this an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant looking to make a real impact.
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, your role will include:
Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with additional learning needs
Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging, accessible lessons
Assisting in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive learning
Helping with classroom organisation and preparation of resources
Fostering a supportive, inclusive environment for all pupils
You’ll be working across Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2, depending on the school’s needs.
We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about working with children. The ideal candidate will have:
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred)
Experience working with children in a school or similar setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Confidence in supporting children of varying needs and abilities
A patient, proactive, and adaptable approach to working in the classroom
A genuine interest in contributing to children’s education and well-being

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
