Zest Education is working closely with a welcoming and inclusive primary school near Cannock, who are seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a full-time, long-term position that will start continue until the end of term, with a strong chance of extension based on school needs and performance.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working alongside class teachers to support learning across the curriculum. You may work with individual pupils, small groups, or the whole class, depending on the needs of the school and pupils.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils in the classroom to engage with their learning

  • Delivering or supporting literacy and numeracy interventions

  • Assisting pupils with additional needs (SEN) as required

  • Promoting positive behaviour and a calm, focused learning environment

  • Helping to prepare learning resources and support lesson delivery

  • Providing feedback to teaching staff and contributing to pupil progress tracking


The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for working with children and a proactive, adaptable approach.

Essential:

  • Previous experience working with primary-aged children

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing nature

Preferred:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

  • Experience working with children with SEN

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
