Are you passionate about supporting young people who face behavioural and emotional challenges? Zest Education is working in partnership with a specialist school in Loughborough to recruit a Behaviour Mentor for a September start.
This rewarding role is ideal for individuals with a background in youth work, sports coaching, SEN support, or mental health services. The school caters to pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, who require patience, consistency, and tailored strategies to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with challenging behaviour.
Helping pupils re-engage with learning in a safe and supportive environment.
Assisting with de-escalation strategies and behaviour intervention plans.
Working closely with teaching staff, therapists, and pastoral teams.
Experience working with children or young people with additional needs, especially SEMH or behavioural difficulties.
Strong interpersonal skills, resilience, and the ability to build trust.
A proactive and calm approach, even in challenging situations.
A DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Zest).

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
