Job Description

Teaching Assistant (NVQ Level 3 or Above) – Full Time – Frankley – 1:1 Behaviour & SEND Support

Zest Education is recruiting a committed and enthusiastic full‑time Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in the Frankley area. This fantastic long‑term role, starting as soon as possible, is offering an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on pupils who need additional support.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils engage positively in their learning across the primary age range. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 support for children with behavioural needs
  • Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Helping to implement personalised strategies and behaviour plans
  • Working closely with teaching staff and SENCOs to monitor progress
  • Encouraging emotional regulation, communication, and confidence
  • Assisting with daily classroom routines and small‑group activities

This role requires patience, resilience, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children who may face barriers to learning.

Essential Requirements

To be considered, candidates must hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification (or above) in a relevant childcare field. Applications without this qualification cannot be accepted.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about supporting pupils with SEND and behavioural needs
  • Confident working 1:1 and adapting approaches to individual children
  • Calm, consistent, and able to use positive behaviour‑support techniques
  • Able to work collaboratively within a strong, supportive staff team
  • Reliable, proactive, and committed to helping children succeed

Working Hours

Monday to Friday – 8.30am to 3.35pm

Start Date

ASAP, continuing on a long‑term basis.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
