Teaching Assistant – Additional Needs

Job Description

Zest Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with additional needs at a primary school in Burntwood. This is a term-time only role, offering consistent part-time hours within a supportive school environment.

This position is ideal for a Teaching Assistant with recent experience in Reception who is passionate about supporting early development and inclusion.


Role Details

  • Position: Teaching Assistant (Additional Needs Support)

  • Location: Burntwood

  • Hours: 7.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

    • 8:45am – 12:15pm

    • 1:30pm – 3:30pm

  • Working Pattern: Term-time only (38 pupil weeks)

  • Additional Hours: INSET days may be required for training and will be paid additionally


The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide targeted support to a child with additional needs

  • Work within a Reception classroom environment

  • Support learning, engagement, and emotional development

  • Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

  • Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, parents, and carers

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
