Zest Education are looking for Teaching Assistants to work within a variety of secondary schools across Birmingham in areas such as Sutton Coldfield, Aston, Erdington, and Great Barr. The schools are ideally looking for people to start ASAP but also have a continuous need for TAs across the year. 

Zest is offering flexible part-time and full-time roles to suit your needs. Teaching Assistants (TAs) are an integral part of the teaching staff, especially in secondary schools, the role requires you to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

About the Role:

  • Promote class interaction and ensure pupils engage throughout the lessons
  • Provide opportunities for developing independence
  • Prepare, maintain and use learning resources and assist pupils to use them

The ideal candidate will be confident, enthusiastic and able to identify and engage with different learning needs. You will ideally have experience working with children in an educational setting or have a passion to gain experience working with children and young adults. 

You will be required to work on a one-to-one basis and within small groups and due to the age range of these students, you must be flexible across all age groups.

All applicants must either be NVQ level 2 qualified (or above) in a relevant subject or have a minimum of 20 days of experience working with children or young adults within the last 2 years. 

You need to be proactive, energetic and committed to engaging pupils in wanting to learn and inspiring them to be confident and independent.
