Currently, we are recruiting a full-time teaching assistant for a fantastic school located near the Bournville area, with a start date in November 2023. This school specializes in addressing Social Emotion Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as Autism and other moderate learning difficulties (MLD).

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will join a dedicated and supportive Student Support Department, working towards creating an environment where all students can achieve success. Your primary responsibility will be to provide close support to students, ensuring that you understand and cater to their individual needs while building positive relationships.

The ideal candidate will serve as an effective role model, setting high expectations and motivating students to excel. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, and experience working with SEMH would be advantageous. Your role will involve working with students in small groups within the department, as well as supporting them in mainstream lessons to ensure they can fully engage in the learning process.

Job Responsibilities:

– Collaborate with teachers to plan and implement educational programs for individual or groups of students with special educational needs.
– Provide general support to the inclusion team and class teachers in assisting students with special educational needs both inside and outside the classroom.
– Assist teachers and the inclusion team in creating and maintaining a purposeful, organized, and supportive learning environment.
– Foster the inclusion of all students, ensuring equal opportunities for learning, development, and overall success.
