Overview

We are currently looking for learning support assistant to join a special educational needs school located in Burton-On-Trent. This school caters for students with autism from the age of seven up to the age of eighteen. You will be working alongside the class teacher to support the students on a one-to-one basis, as well as working with small groups. We are ideally looking for someone that has previously worked within a SEND environment, or someone that has experience of working with SEND in a mainstream environment.

This role is to start as soon as possible and will be ongoing until the end of the academic year. There is a strong possibility for this to become a permanent position for the ideal candidate. This is a well-respected school that provides outstanding support to its students, as well as their staff. We are looking for a confident individual who has the ability to build relationships quickly and be able to adapt to an ever-changing environment.

  • You must have previous experience of working with students with autism.

  • This school caters for a variety of ages, so you may be required to work with both primary and secondary aged students.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
