Teaching Assistant, Rugeley

Zest Education is exclusively working with a special educational needs school in Rugeley. The school is a ‘good’ Ofsted rated school that have a full-time Teaching assistant position available.  This position is to start in September 2022 and will continue on a long-term basis into the new academic year. If the candidate is suitable then the position will be extended and possibly even made permanent.

The school itself caters for children from the age of five to seventeen with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The ideal candidate must have previous experience supporting individuals with SEND or in a similar setting.

The classes throughout this school consist of a mixture of year groups tailored to needs and academic ability. It is important that you are confident, enthusiastic, and can identify and engage with different learning needs. You will be required to support the students individually and in small groups.

The role:

  • You have knowledge and understanding of the needs of working in an alternative provision and will be able to forge positive and mutually respectful relationships with colleagues and students
  • You will be working within a fast paced and ever-changing environment
  • You must be passionate about working with students with special educational needs and have previous experience of working in a special school or similar environment
