Teaching Assistant, Stourbridge.

A excellent special educational needs school situated in Stourbridge are looking for an experienced, motivated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join their team. This position is full time starting ASAP and will require you to be committed until the end of the academic year, with the potential to extend for the right candidate.

The school caters for students from the age of three to sixteen, providing a quality education for students with complex needs, severe learning difficulties, including autism, and students with profound and multiple learning difficulties. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with special educational needs or in a care environment.

This school also benefits from having three minibuses, which enable the students to take an active role outside the school buildings; going swimming, on community visits, being involved with students from other schools and practising skills learned in school such as communicating effectively in different environments.  Due to this reason, the ideal candidate must be confident with working with the students 1:1 and in small groups both inside and outside the classroom

The role:

  • You have previous experience supporting individuals with special educational needs or within a care environment
  • Must be a proactive and engaging individual who has proven experience of having strong behaviour management skills and working across a range of age groups
  • You will be working alongside the teacher, preparing learning resources and maintaining the classroom
