Teaching Assistant, Stourbridge.

We’re recruiting for an enthusiastic, bright, and hard-working full-time Teaching Assistant to work at a special educational needs school located in Stourbridge. This position will start October 2022 and will continue on a long term basis into the new academic year.

This school caters for children from the age of six to fourteen with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The ideal candidate will have previous experience of supporting individuals with SEND. Although this position is to work in a school environment, we are open to receiving applications from TA’s, support workers and individuals that have worked with adults with special educational needs.

This school has excellent facilities across the school to benefit both pupils and staff. The school has a strong ethos of inclusion and equality and aims to provide all pupils with a safe and secure environment to learn and grow as an individual.

You will be required to work with the pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, so it is essential that you have a flexible approach. You will be required to quickly build engaging relationships with the pupils and support them with all areas of the curriculum.

The role:

  • You have previous experience of supporting individuals with special educational needs (SEND)
  • Implement positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalate any challenges you do face with your calm approach
  • You will be required to support the children to learn as effectively as possible in small groups and individually
