Teaching Assistant, Tamworth.

Zest Education are working with a busy SEND school located in Tamworth to recruit for a part-time Teaching Assistant. This role is due to begin September 2022 and will continue on a long-term basis into the new academic year. The school are seeking an individual who can commit to three days a week 8:30 to 15:30.

The school caters for children from the age of six to fifteen with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Due to the needs of the learners, the ideal candidate must have previous experience of working with individuals with SEND or in a similar setting. The classes are small throughout this school to enable each student to make quick and rapid learning progress in their social and academic studies. It is important that you are confident with your behaviour management as you will be working with the students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

The successful candidate must be a committed individual who can empower the children to succeed and show a patient and nurturing approach in order to unlock a child’s potential. You will be required to work alongside the class teacher, assisting the children with their work and supporting with the students behaviour while establishing good relationships with the students, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.

The role:

  • This school caters for a variety of ages, so you may be required to work with both primary and secondary aged students
  • You will need to be creative in the classroom and be able to offer engaging support to the class teacher and students
  • You may be required to work with children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to ensure that they are getting the most out of what is being taught in the classroom.
