Teaching Assistant, Walsall

We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant for an excellent special educational needs school located in Walsall. This is a part-time position starting October 2022 and will continue into the new academic year. The successful candidate will be required to work 3 days a week, 8:30am to 15:30pm.
This school caters for children from the age of seven to eighteen with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Although this position is to work in a school environment, we are open to receiving applications from TA’s, support workers and individuals that have worked with adults with special educational needs.
This is a well-respected school, that ensures students within the setting are supported throughout their time in the environment. Many of the learners in this environment find it difficult to trust individuals, so we are looking for someone that can build rapport quickly. You will be required to work with the children in small groups and individually, so it is important you have a flexible approach to meet each individual child’s needs.
The successful candidate must be a proactive and engaging individual who has proven experience of having strong behaviour management skills and working across a range of age groups.
- You must be passionate about working with students with special educational needs and have previous experience of working in a special school or similar environment
- You are a patient individual and have a positive attitude towards the educational development of the students
- You have the ability to form trusting relationships with each student to result in positive outcomes
