Year 6 Teaching Assistant (Burton upon Trent)

Location: Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire
Start Date: December 2025
Duration: Until the end of the half term, with the possibility of extension into the new year

Zest Education is delighted to be working with a warm and welcoming primary school in Burton upon Trent, who are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Year 6 team from December 2025. About the Role

As a Year 6 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils and teachers throughout the crucial final year of primary school. Your duties will include:

  • Providing targeted support to individuals and small groups, particularly in English and Maths.

  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and learning activities.

  • Helping pupils prepare for end-of-year assessments and SATs.

  • Supporting children with varying learning needs to stay focused and confident.

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and maintaining a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).

  • Has experience working with children

  • Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Is patient, proactive, and adaptable in their approach to supporting learning.

  • Works well as part of a team and uses initiative when required.

  • Has a genuine passion for education and helping children reach their full potential.
