Zest is recruiting exclusively for a special educational needs (SEND) school in Stoke-on-Trent for a full time Teaching Assistant to join their team.
As a teaching assistant, you will be working in a vibrant community special school that caters to children and young people aged 11-19 with Autism (ASC) and associated learning needs. Your main responsibility will be to support the class teacher within the classroom, providing assistance in preparing learning resources and maintaining a high standard of classroom organisation.
In this full-time position, you will be required to work Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 15:30. This long-term opportunity is set to begin as soon as possible and will continue for the remainder of the academic year. It is essential that you have the flexibility and commitment to work with students who have persistent differences with social interaction, social communication, and understanding emotions.
While previous experience in a school environment is preferred, applications from teaching assistants, support workers, and individuals who have worked with adults with special educational needs (SEND) are also welcomes. This inclusive approach ensures that a diverse range of skills and perspectives are brought into the classroom.
To excel in this role, you should possess excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy. You will be supporting students with Autism (ASC) and associated learning needs, who require additional support to engage with the curriculum.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.
