Zest Education are working closely with a large secondary school in Birmingham, close to the city centre. The school are looking for a Visual Arts and Design Teacher, to teach across KS3 – KS5. The position will start in September 2022, full time and this will be to cover a long-term maternity leave until summer 2023.

The school is situated in a popular area, so is easily accessible by private or public transport. The school is a busy secondary which caters for a broad range of students, including a high number of EAL students. The school are looking for a hardworking candidate who will thrive in a face paced environment.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  • A strong passion for the subject of Art and Design and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 to KS5
  • A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  • The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management

Rates of pay will vary dependant on experience.

Both newly qualified teachers (NQT) / Early careers teachers (ECT) and experienced teachers will be equally considered for this role.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
