Zest Education are seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to work part-time (2 days a week) at a vibrant school based in Weoley Castle. This role can start in October 2024 and is ongoing until the end of the academic year. The ideal candidate must be able to bring creativity and enthusiasm to the Year 1 classroom to stay in line with the school’s ethos.

You will be required to:

  • Plan appropriate work and organise the student education in line with the Key Stage 1 (KS1) curriculum.
  • Assess, record, and monitor the progress of each student and report relevant information on their progress and attainment to parents/guardians and senior leaders.
  • To ensure the maintenance of good order and promote good conduct among all students, in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Contribute towards the goals and targets in the school’s strategic plan.
  • Create effective working relationships.
  • Establish and oversee an inviting, supporting, and encouraging learning environment.

You must have: 

  • You must hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience working within an education-based setting or teaching KS1.
  • Have a strong knowledge of the national curriculum.
  • An enhanced DBS or the willingness to obtain one.
  • Have a genuine passion to help children achieve academic success.
