Zest Education are currently recruiting a driven and committed Teaching Assistant to work in a Year 1 class on a part-time basis. You will be required to work three days a week, starting as soon as possible. This part-time position can provide you with flexibility and a chance to demonstrate your teaching assistant skills. You will be joining a welcoming two-form entry school based in Quinton. This institution provides a varied and exciting curriculum to ensure the children are motivated and eager to learn! As a Year 1 Teaching Assistant, you will need to be creative in your approach to teaching and possess the capacity to provide pupils with positive and motivating support.

Your roles and responsibilities:

· Support the classroom teacher and prepare resources for learning activities and assist students in their use.

· Uphold policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, child protection, data protection and behaviour management/pupil conduct.

· Develop solid relationships with students, teacher, and parents to provide feedback on the development and accomplishment of the students.

· Motivate students to participate in activities and engage with the class as well as promoting their competence and independence.

· Establish a calm, encouraging and positive learning environment in the classroom.

Requirements:

– Experience in an educational setting or working with children is highly desirable.

– Must hold an enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one.

– Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with students, parents, professionals/colleagues.

– Basic understanding of the national curriculum.

– Possess a high degree of teamwork proficiency and the ability to collaborate with others as well as work independently.

– High standard of numeracy/literacy skills.

– Have a genuine desire in helping children achieve academic success.
