Full-Time Year 2 Teacher – Birmingham | January 2026 Start | KS1 Teaching Job

About the Role

As the Year 2 Class Teacher, you’ll be responsible for leading a well-behaved and enthusiastic class of 28 pupils, supported by an experienced and friendly Teaching Assistant. Together, you’ll create a dynamic, nurturing classroom where every child feels valued and motivated to succeed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, creative lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum

  • Supporting pupils with varying learning styles and individual needs

  • Assessing progress and providing constructive feedback to support continued development

  • Maintaining high standards of classroom behaviour and safeguarding

  • Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and promote a positive school ethos

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a passionate and reliable KS1 teacher who is eager to contribute to a positive and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification

  • Have solid experience teaching within Key Stage 1 (preferably Year 2/SAT’s)

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the KS1 curriculum

  • Be confident in managing classroom behaviour effectively and positively

  • Possess excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Show a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils
