Zest Education are currently recruiting a hard-working and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at a school based in Tyseley. You will be required to support a Year 3 class full-time, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am till 3:30pm. This position can start immediately and will continue until the end of the academic year. As a Full-Time Year 3 Teaching Assistant, you will be required to:

  • Supervise and assist individuals/small groups of pupils, and implement intervention programmes where necessary.
  • Build the pupils confidence, enhance self-esteem and promote independent learning.
  • Implement behaviour management policies and promote positive pupil behaviour in accordance with the school’s protocols.
  • Support the teacher in delivering specific teaching programmes and prepare materials and resources for lessons.
  • Liaise with other staff, senior leaders and parents/guardians about pupils progress, behaviour and achievements.
  • Maintain a supportive, positive and inclusive learning environment.

You must:

  • Have relevant experience working with children or in an education-based setting.
  • A good understanding of the national curriculum and child development.
  • A genuine passion for having a positive impact on children’s education as well as continuing your personal and professional development.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS or have the desire to obtain one.
  • Be able to work effectively both independently  and within a coordinated team.
  • Demonstrate active listening skills and strong communication skills.
