Position: Year 4 Teaching Assistant
Location: Bordesley Green, Birmingham
Start Date: September 2024
Contract: Full-Time

Role Overview:

Zest are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Year 4 Teaching Assistant to join the dynamic team from September 2024. The successful candidate will work closely with the Year 4 class teacher to support and enhance the learning experience of our students. This role is pivotal in providing tailored support to pupils, helping to create a positive and effective learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and interactive lessons.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students to reinforce learning.
  • Help prepare and organize classroom resources and materials.
  • Support the development of students’ social and emotional skills.
  • Monitor and record pupils’ progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.
  • Supervise students during break and lunchtimes as required.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) are desirable but not essential.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
