Zest Education is currently recruiting a passionate and dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming and high-achieving primary school in Edgbaston. This is a part-time role (3 days per week) starting in March 2026. An excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher looking to make a long-term impact.
This vibrant primary school in Edgbaston promotes high standards of behaviour and academic achievement. The staff work together to create a safe, happy, and inclusive learning environment.
The ideal Year 5 Teacher will be someone who can inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils through engaging lessons that foster curiosity and a love of learning.
As a Year 5 Teacher, your day-to-day duties will include:
Planning and delivering high-quality, creative lessons that meet the National Curriculum requirements.
Assessing student progress, marking work, and maintaining accurate records.
Managing classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
Creating engaging, collaborative lessons that promote teamwork and communication.
Liaising with parents, senior leaders, and external bodies to discuss student progress.
Providing individualised support to meet the needs of all learners.
To be successful as a Year 5 Teacher, you must have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent experience teaching in a primary school.
A strong understanding of the Year 5 curriculum and Key Stage 2 learning objectives.
Strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
