Year 5 Teacher, Birmingham.

Zest education is closely working with a two-form entry school in the Erdington area of Birmingham. This position will be mornings only in the school’s demanding Year 5 class. The hours will be 08:30am-12:30pm and the start date will be September 2022. The role will be initially for two terms but could be extended for the full academic year if the right candidate is found.

The school has had its challenges in recent years but is improving term by term. The school has spent some money on the facilities within the grounds and the KS2 department has received a completely new internal look. The senior leadership are hoping that with better learning facilities and accessibility, all academic abilities can thrive.

A fundamental trait that the successful candidate must have is being passionate about the growth and development of the pupils. Year 5 is incredibly important as this will give them the boost into their all-important SATS years so somebody who can deliver the curriculum confidently is a must. The candidate must also have great behaviour management skills, this is a tough class so the teacher must be able to take charge and use different methods to keep cohesion.

Both newly qualified and experienced teaching assistants will be considered for this role. If you have experience in the KS2 setting, then this would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be given full support in their new role.
