Position: Teaching Assistant (Year 5)

Role Overview: Zest Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a Year 5 class. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support the academic and social development for the students. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about education and eager to make a positive impact on young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Supporting individual students and small groups with their learning.
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assisting with classroom management and behaviour support.
  • Preparing and organising classroom resources and materials.
  • Providing support during school trips and special events.
  • Contributing to the assessment and recording of students’ progress.
  • Building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.


  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is desirable but not essential.
