Zest is working together with a ‘good’ rated primary school in the Dudley area that is looking for a committed year 6 teacher for an ongoing maternity cover post beginning in December 2024 on a ongoing basis. The successful candidate will work 3 days a week in this position and be expected to have knowledge of and experience dealing with students who are scheduled to complete their SATs.

As a Year 6 teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping young minds during a formative period of their education. Your responsibilities will include creating engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning needs of students, assessing their progress through regular evaluations, and providing constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential. Additionally, you will be tasked with fostering a positive learning environment, promoting essential skills such as critical thinking and problem-solving, and preparing students for the transition to secondary school.

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Have a qualified teaching status (PGCE or QTS)
  • Have experience with working with SAT’S.
  • Be eager, passionate, and caring towards students.
  • Be creative and forward thinking to follow the school’s curriculum.
  • Have the ability to be organise, plan and mark lessons.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
