Are you passionate about helping young learners achieve their full potential? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at a school in Swadlincote. This position is a maternity cover starting in January 2024.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide support across Year 1, working closely with students on a 1:1 basis as well as in small group interventions. Your role will be crucial in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring every student receives the individual attention they deserve.
Responsibilities:
– Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities
– Provide 1:1 support to students who require extra assistance
– Facilitate small group intervention sessions to address specific learning needs
– Collaborate with the teacher to develop tailored learning plans for individual students
– Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to the teacher
– Promote a safe and nurturing atmosphere for students to thrive in
Requirements:
– Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a primary school setting
– A genuine passion for education and supporting student success
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to adapt to different learning styles and individual needs
– Knowledge of the Year 1 curriculum and relevant teaching strategies
– Flexibility to work 4 days per week, Monday to Thursday

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
